RFID Association of India

RFID Association of India is a not-for-profit organization that has been formed to promote the adoption of its applications in India, and collaborate with others to promote it globally. It believes passionately promoting the responsible adoption of RFID, in India, and globally.

The RFIDAI is an industry association.

Industry associations have had a proven track model in India. The RFIDAI too, will work with the government to advance RFID, but it is not part of the government. It will work with standards bodies to advance the state of RFID, but it is not a standards body itself. As an industry body, it will work with other like-minded organizations to promote RFID's adoption and use. It will work with academia to advance the state of the knowledge in RFID.

RFID is proven technology. It has many existing applications and standards across multiple frequencies. Many of these are ISO standards across different frequencies, and the RFIDAI supports these existing and evolving standards from these established organizations. With new opportunities emerging, as have the evolution of more recent standards organizations like the EPC that is leading the adoption of the EPC standard, and the RFIDAI supports EPC.
